1:10 Youth Group

Colossians 1:10-11 (ESV):

“so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy…”

1:10 is the youth Ministry of Cornerstone Baptist Church. It includes the Youth Sunday Morning Bible Class as well as regular Sunday Afternoon meetings. Please contact us for specifics regarding meeting times.

One of the goals of 1:10 is to assist parents in helping our youth answer the question “Why?” We desire to lead them into a deeper and fuller understanding of who they are, of who God is and how those 2 things relate. Namely, a fuller and deeper understanding of the gospel and its implications.

We strive to keep our youth ministry Simple, Relational and God-focused.

Simple – Our meetings primarily consist of studying God’s word or reading and studying books that are based on God’s word. We enjoy outdoor games, weather permitting as well as a snack provided by one of the youth.

Relational – We were created in the image of a relational God. This means we not only were created to have a relationship with this God, but with each other as well. Good relationships are essential to a full life. Godly relationships are essential to a profitable and healthy spiritual life. We strive to foster good relationships in the youth group, in the church, and with individual families.

God-focused – God is what we most need. With that understanding, He is the focus of our youth group. We can’t make it all about fun, or even about relationships. That would be empty and useless in light of eternity. “In Christ alone, my hope is found, he is my light, my strength, my song.” – Stuart Townend and Keith Getty

Parents are encouraged and invited to attend any meetings or activities that they would like and to get involved in the youth group with their teen as much as possible. The youth group or youth leader does not take the place of parental responsibility and biblical directive. However, It is our desire to be a partner in the formidable and privileged task God has ordained for parents. Your input, concerns and assistance are greatly encouraged and appreciated.
